Our company is named after a town in the province of Bali, Indonesia. Known for its remarkable art, beauty, and culture, Ubud has been a place of spirituality and healing. Derived from the word “ubad”, the word translates to medicine in the Balinese language. Ubud Organics currently operates out of Toronto and is 100% Canadian owned. Why name our company after Ubud? The name holds a special meaning for the company founder as it is the place he and his wife formed life long memories during their honeymoon in Bali. In addition, we believe food is medicine and when combined with an active lifestyle, it is the path to optimized health. As Hippocrates once said “Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food”. Given the Balinese translation of the name, it is an ideal choice for our vision and our values. We are a quickly expanding business, looking to partner with other organizations and individuals who hold the same passion for food and nutrition that we have. With a focus on functional foods, we believe in educating and increasing access to healthy snacking and eating.
